Tiivistelmä
The aim for this thesis is to find out if there would be potential need for combining factor to unite public saunas in Tampere area. Tampere has been announced as the official sauna capital of the world and is known for it´s many saunas. There are private saunas and saunas run by organizations which are owned by the city of Tampere. There are different kinds of saunas all around the city. The history of public saunas in Tampere goes way back. There have been high peaks of interest in the public sauna culture as well as lower seasons. When saunas were not popular in households, public saunas hold an important part in work class people’s everyday life in order to maintain wellbeing, cleanliness and socialness. When entering sauna titles and work hierarchies are forgotten and everyone is on the same level.
Thesis is explaining the history of public saunas, current situation, visitor levels, motivation to join public saunas and the need for one platform to explain and point out saunas that are currently not busy.
In today’s hectic world, clients are expecting experiences instead of buying objects or services. In the sauna culture providers should concentrate on creating excellent experiences to improve their work methods.
