This thesis analyzes the market potential for a specialized e-commerce platform dedicated to cat food in Spain. It explores consumer needs, purchasing challenges, and decision factors related to cat age, breed, and health conditions to inform the development of a platform offering tailored nutritional solutions. A review of literature on pet nutrition, online consumer behavior, and e-commerce trends establishes the theoretical framework for the study.
Using a mixed-methods approach, the research gathers quantitative data on purchase frequency, preferred platform features, and satisfaction with current options, complemented by qualitative insights into consumer expectations. This dual approach ensures a comprehensive understanding of market trends and user behavior, while addressing potential limitations such as response biases and sample representativeness.
The findings confirm the feasibility of developing an e-commerce platform focused on tailored cat nutrition. The results highlight strong market demand, clear consumer preferences, and opportunities to address unmet needs in the Spanish pet food market. This study not only contributes to academic literature but also provides the groundings for designing a platform that aligns with consumer expectations, filling a unique niche in the Spanish market.
