This thesis investigates the international expansion strategies of small Hungarian companies, focusing on adaptations and challenges in the post-COVID-19 era to support Betonsebész Kft., the commissioning company of this thesis, in their internationalization.
Through qualitative interviews with participants from various industries, key themes emerged regarding essential strategies for successful market entry, including thorough market research, strategic partnerships, and flexibility in responding to external factors such as geopolitical risks and economic fluctuations. The findings support existing literature on internationalization while providing a unique perspective specific to Hungarian businesses, which is an area with limited prior research.
The study highlights that while international expansion presents considerable risks, it also provides valuable opportunities for growth and resilience when approached with careful planning and adaptability. This research fills a gap in the literature by offering practical guidance tailored to Hungarian companies in the construction sector and suggests possibilities for future research that incorporate a wider range of industries and perspectives.
