In today’s rapidly changing world, digital tools have become essential for education, research, and collaboration. Universities are forming alliances like EUDRES to tackle challenges together and work toward building smarter and more sustainable societies. This study explores the digital platforms that can best support these efforts, focusing on tools like Moodle, MS Teams, ORCID, and the Bank of Researchers. These platforms offer unique strengths in learning, collaboration, and research, making them ideal candidates for the EUDRES Alliance.
Despite the availability of advanced technologies, challenges remain, such as differing IT infrastructures, the need for interoperability, and ensuring inclusivity across institutions. This research dives into these issues, evaluating the platforms against key criteria like accessibility, scalability, and integration. Practical recommendations are provided, including an implementation plan and strategies for long-term sustainability.
The study highlights areas for future research, like exploring how AI and blockchain might further enhance education and collaboration. By addressing these gaps, alliances like EUDRES can continue to evolve and lead the way in innovative, connected, and inclusive education.
