Tiivistelmä
This thesis describes and proposes a workflow of creating high resolution digital sculptures of characters in ZBrush. The process is described starting from planning the future project to steps of finishing the model based on usages most common for digital sculpting. The aim of the thesis is to explain the overall process of sculpting a model and propose an iteration-based workflow of digital sculpting of characters. The process is explained primarily for hobbyists familiar with 3D model production, but new to the process of digital sculpting in ZBrush.
The project of the thesis is a digital sculpture of a character based on a personal concept art. The character’s model goes through stages of planning, blockout using a basemesh, iterations of detailing the model and finalizing the model. The process is done fully in ZBrush, demonstrating key features of the software and methods of creating elements of the model.
The outcome of the thesis is an informative guide in thesis form that describes a workflow of sculpting characters in ZBrush, that can be applied for other subjects and customized based on the planned goal of the project, whether it is a game ready asset or an artistic model for rendering or printing.
