Tiivistelmä
This research was commissioned by Framery Oy with the purpose of improving the performance of the company's ERP system, Oracle Netsuite. As Framery Oy continues to grow, it is crucial for their systems to be scalable and capable of handling more data and increasingly complex processes.

The primary objective of this research is to identify the underlying causes of the poor performance of the ERP system, enabling the IT team to determine what needs to be fixed and improved. The goal is to develop actionable strategies to enhance the performance and speed of Netsuite.

The research employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating both qualitative and quantitative analyses. This includes documentation analysis of existing Oracle Netsuite documentation and secondary data analysis, where actual data from Framery's Netsuite instance was analyzed using standard Netsuite tools and other data analysis tools. Various categories were analyzed based on response time and the type of records executed during the research, with a primary focus on the sales order record in the context of save.

Findings revealed that the context in which a record is executed significantly impacts the performance of the ERP system. Different processes may involve more complex solutions and automations. Although higher governance units consumed by the system can lead to slower performance, this is not always the case; actual response time depends on the specific scripts and workflows executed. Calculating governance units in the system would be beneficial but presents challenges in implementation. By identifying and analyzing the scripts and workflows that consume the most resources, it is possible to improve performance. It was also found that many scripts and workflows are frequently repeated within the same execution context.

The research concludes that Framery Oy needs to review the existing scripts and workflows attached to the sales order record from both business and technical perspectives. The current codes should be reviewed and optimized to make the functions as efficient as possible, reducing the amount of governance units consumed and the time spent executing an action. In addition, future scripts and workflows should be executed within specific contexts rather than at a global level. Data used should be sanitized and validated by improving the design process of the solutions within Netsuite.
