Tiivistelmä
This thesis examines change management in preparation for the implementation of a new SAP S/4HANA ERP system. The topic is approached through a case study carried out in the procurement department of Meyer Turku shipyard. The study examines how change management methods have been applied in the implementation of the SAP S/4HANA system, and how these methods have been used to support personnel adaptation and commitment to change.
A mixed¬methods approach, including interviews and surveys, was used to assess the impact of the system change and the change management strategies employed. The focus of the study was on the importance of change management and training in preparing employees and ensuring the successful deployment of the new system.
The thesis gives practical examples of the implementation of change management in ERP projects and highlights good practices that can also be useful in other significant organizational changes. The conclusions presented at the end of the study emphasize the importance of systematic planning, staff training, and effective communication in successful change management.
