Tiivistelmä
This research investigated the challenges faced by international students in Finland when they use current job search platforms. This study utilized service and UX design approaches to develop a user-friendly job search website. By identifying users’ needs and expectations, this study aimed to improve user experience in a job search process. This thesis employed Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as a theoretical framework to understand the effectiveness of the proposed platform.
This project was conducted using the Double Diamand Design process as a methodology. This project started with the Discover phase with an online survey by gathering user’s pain points in the job search journey such as language barrier, complex application process, no suitable job options for international students, and so forth. However, this design process followed a variety of service design tools and methods in the following stages. Furthermore, this researcher also conducted benchmark analysis on the existing platforms to identify their best practices and the gaps.
Based on these findings, this project offered design recommendations such as use English as the primary language, simplify application process, and establish resource hub with guidance and resources, and so forth to improve user satisfaction. Finally, based on these findings, the project offered design recommendations to develop user-friendly job search platforms.
