Tiivistelmä
The integration of Augmented Reality (AR) in healthcare has emerged as a significant development in nursing education and patient care. With the increasing demands on healthcare systems and the need for innovative teaching methods, AR has been recognized as a transformative tool for the nursing profession. The purpose of this literature review is to examine the practices, benefits, and challenges of implementing AR in nursing practice, focusing on its impact on clinical skills, patient care, and nursing education. A systematic literature review methodology was used, including analysis of relevant studies, and highlighted the impact of AR technology on nursing education and care practices. Various databases were searched, and literature was selected according to established criteria. Key themes were identified and synthesized to draw comprehensive conclusions about the role of AR in nursing. Findings have revealed that AR significantly improves the educational experience for nursing students, providing engaging simulations that improve clinical skills and knowledge retention. Additionally, AR applications in clinical settings have been shown to support better decision-making and improve the accuracy of patient assessments. However, barriers such as high costs, ethical concerns about data privacy, and resistance
to adopting new technologies have also been noted. In conclusion, the literature suggests that AR holds significant promise in innovatively transforming nursing education and practice, but addressing associated challenges is essential for successful implementation.
Future research should focus on overcoming obstacles and exploring the long-term effects of AR on patient outcomes and training effectiveness.
