This thesis explores the role of user experience (UX) design in shaping the effectiveness of food delivery apps, using Wolt’s food delivery application as a case study. In an increasingly competitive digital environment, exceptional UX design is essential for businesses to stand out and retain users. This research investigates key aspects of UX design, including visual design, interaction design, usability, and psychological factors, and examines how these elements collectively impact user satisfaction and engagement.
Through an in depth literature review, the study highlights frameworks, models, and case studies relevant to the food delivery industry, emphasizing principles such as user centered design, cognitive psychology, and affective design. The theoretical framework applied in this research guides the analysis of Wolt’s app, focusing on its visual and interaction design features, such as real time tracking interfaces, menu layouts, and user centric elements like consistent color palettes and call to action buttons. By combining qualitative and quantitative methods, including surveys and interviews, the research evaluates how these features meet functional needs while fostering positive emotional connections with users.
The study offers actionable recommendations to improve Wolt’s design, aiming to enhance usability, better serve user needs, and improve overall satisfaction. Ultimately, the findings suggest that thoughtful design can lead to higher user retention, increased engagement, and long term business success in the food delivery sector.
