Tiivistelmä
This thesis examines the audit of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) implemented by Suomen Voiteluainekauppa Oy (SVAK), a small Finnish company specializing in industrial lubricants. The main objective of the thesis is to assess the company’s compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, identify areas of improvement, and provide actionable recommendations for enhancing operational efficiency and quality control.
The research utilizes a Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology to guide the audit process, which included document review, internal and external audits, and interviews with key stakeholders. The findings highlight SVAK’s strong customer focus and robust documentation system, while identifying weaknesses in areas such as process monitoring and risk management. Corrective actions and continuous improvement strategies were recommended to align SVAK’s practices more closely with ISO 9001 standards.
The thesis concludes that ISO 9001 certification will enhance SVAK's market competitiveness, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction, while providing a structured framework for ongoing improvement. This audit underscores the challenges and benefits of implementing ISO 9001 in small companies and offers insights into best practices for continuous quality improvement in similar business contexts.
