Tiivistelmä
The aim of this thesis was to evaluate and develop occupational safety at Sinituote Oy Kokemäki and Akaa factories. Occupational safety is a key factor to ensure employees’ well-being, reducing workplace accidents, and growing productivity. By systematically analyzing safety practices, challenges, and strengths, this study gives some viewpoints to create a proactive safety culture.
A qualitative research methodology was used, including case study analysis. Data was gathered through observations, analyzing safety reports, and employee interviews across various departments. The theoretical foundation integrates both classic and modern occupational safety models.
Key findings reveal strengths in increased reporting of near-miss incidents and management's visible commitment to safety. However, challenges such as practices across departments and supervisory safety leadership varies between departments. Recommendations include reorganizing workspace layouts, enhancing supervisor training, and adopting standardized safety processes.
