Mental health issues are common in the general public which have negative effect arising from the presence of health challenges in their lives. For example, depression in all way reduce people’s feeling of happiness while anxiety and accumulated stress leads to the signs of aggressive behaviour. Nursing intervention refers to all kinds of nursing activities that are designed to bring an improvement to the health or well-being of a patient. It includes advice from nurses about long-term medical conditions, provision of support, assistance with personal care, and working with other medical or social care professionals to provide the best care.
The objective of this review is to provide mental health nurses with effective practices to improve patient outcomes and to supports educational institutions by integrating evidence-based practices into nursing curricula to better prepare future nurses.
A descriptive literature review is used in this study to explore the impact of nursing interventions on mental health outcomes by synthesizing existing literature. Five studies were selected for the review.
Review shows that nurses use interventions in mental health care to increase outcomes and quality of life. These interventions work in integrated manner to help mentally ill patients to improve their illness. Enhancing patient safety and encouraging active participation in treatment are among the objectives of all nursing interventions aimed at reducing mental illness. Nurses are pivotal in enhancing the life opportunities of both individuals and communities, as they are equipped to implement interventions and strategies through their caring and supportive roles.
Two sectors were suggested for further research: Standardized nursing interventions to ensure evidence-based practice and consistency, Developing the most reliable tools for assessing specific mental health outcomes.
