Tiivistelmä
This thesis explores the sustainability challenges and solutions within the alcoholic beverage industry, moreover the supply chain of vodka, driven by the author's extensive experience in the field of alcoholic beverages and restaurant industry.

The main focus of the thesis is the emissions of the supply chain of agriculture, highlighting the complexity of estimating greenhouse gas emissions from food production. Research will show what steps have been taken towards minimizing these effects in a global, regional and national level.

The thesis uses Anora's Koskenkorva Climate Action vodka as an example product to illustrate sustainable practices from farm to bottle. Two expert interviews with a farmer and representatives from the Baltic Sea Action Group provide insights into the impacts of these practices on operations and the environment. Questions for the farmer were more about daily work and how regenerative farming is done in the field, where as the questions for BSAG were more on initiatives and effects on surrounding nature. These interviews were done by email during autumn 2024.

The objective is to investigate the potential of scaling regenerative farming practices across the industry. The research is qualitative, involving scientific studies and expert interviews, aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding of the environmental impacts of agriculture and the possibilities for supply chain improvements. The scope excludes organic farming and adjacent emitting industries.

The research and interviews brings the thesis to a conclusion that regenerative farming methods could be scalable through out the agricultural industry.
