The aim of this study is to find out how the feminist movement have influenced the design of fashion in aspects of functionality and comfort, and how the feminist movement have used fashion to their own advantage. It is a theoretical study that uses the methods of document analysis as a data collection method and content analysis to analyze the data collected. The result of the study is that the feminist movement have influenced the design of fashion by challenging and rejecting constrictive fashion, promoting functional and comfortable clothing and redefining gender norms and femininity by adopting typical male clothing into their own wardrobes. The feminist movement have utilized fashion during political demonstrations to show a united front, but they have also used fashion to challenge the traditional gender roles in society. The study also questions what fashion activism is, Fashion activism is when fashion (clothing and style) is used as a tool for social, environmental and political change. Goodbye Corset, Hello Comfort! is a study aimed at beauty care students, people in the fashion industry and fashion enthusiasts who want to gain knowledge on the subject.
