Abstract

The SMILE project or Strengthening Migrant Family Integration through New Dialogue Methods with Communities, Schools and Services in Vantaa Neighbourhoods, was a joint project of the City of Vantaa and Laurea from 2023 to 2025 funded by the European Union. The project supported the integration of migrant families, employment, and cooperation between homes and schools. The activities emphasized the importance of families and communities in integration.

This publication presents the good practices developed in the project. The descriptions of the activities aim to encourage representatives of the public sector, non-governmental organizations, and educational institutions to promote dialogue and cooperation between communities, schools, and services.
