This thesis demonstrates the development of an IoT security platform designed to increase hospital security measures alongside medical assistance capabilities. Security authentication, motion surveillance, and emergency assistance functionality are supported by a system that combines ESP32 micro-controllers and MQTT protocol with the Firebase platform and Node-RED technologies. Movement detectors for security devices and medical emergencies operate instantly to generate automatic responses for unauthorized access incidents and alert patterns, and emergencies. Additionally, the system features a web interface that enables personnel to monitor and manage hospital security events from any location. The system uses automated detection methods with MQTT-based communication to maintain continuous IoT component data transmission without requiring human supervision. The implementation of the system leads to faster emergency responses which subsequently enhances patient security and monitoring capabilities. Finally, the selected technologies and tools from this thesis study resulted in achieving all goals that showed IoT security solutions could transform healthcare environments.
