Drug addiction and homelessness exist in Finland, and it is a complex issue that has required intervention from both governmental institutions and humanitarian organizations. Satakunnan Sininauha is one such humanitarian organization that has worked for humanity since 1965. They provide services for the homeless drug addicted individuals for a dignified living.
The project aimed at working with this already existing organization to give support with strategies that could improve the lives of the affected. The approach was to support the initiatives that have already been put in place by Satakunnan Sininauha and developing them. Providing hygiene care packages and supporting smooth orientation process for the newly enrolled individuals were our aimed contributions.
Methodology used in this study was agile because of the factors involved such as the cost of the project, adaptability, time consumed on the project, flexibility and end results. This was the best method to use as the project was short timed with long term outcome intentions.
The project resulted in the posters have significantly increased awareness of personal hygiene among homeless individuals in the apartment complex.
