Vesienhallinnan toimenpiteet Pohjois-Pohjanmaalla : verkkosivuston kehittäminen

Abstract

Vesistöjen ekologinen tila puhuttaa Suomessa niin sisä-, kuin rannikkovesienkin osalta. Vaarana ovat vesistöjen rehevöityminen, luonnon monimuotoisuuden väheneminen sekä veden käyttökelpoisuuden vaarantuminen ihmisen toiminnan vuoksi. Valuma-aluekohtaisilla vesienhallinnan toimenpiteillä on huomattu olevan paljon positiivisia vaikutuksia vesistöjä ajatellen, ja nämä voisivat toimia ratkaisuna vesistöjen rehevöitymisen alkulähteillä etenkin maa- ja metsätalousalueilla. Tämän toiminnallisen opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli toteuttaa verkkosivusto ProAgria Pohjois-Suomen, Oulun Maa- ja kotitalousnaisten sekä Oulun Kalatalouskeskuksen ylläpitämälle VENE – verkostoneuvonta -hankkeelle (2021–2023). Tavoitteena oli koota helposti ymmärrettävää tietoa Pohjois-Pohjanmaalle soveltuvista vesienhallinnan toimenpiteistä sekä teemaan liittyvästä aihepiiristä yhteen tietolähteeseen. Lähtökohta opinnäytetyön tarpeelle muodostui, kun VENE-hankkeen aikana huomattiin, että tietoa vesienhallinnan aihepiiristä oli kyllä olemassa, mutta se oli hyvin asiantuntijakeskeistä ja tämä saattaisi nostaa asiakkaiden kynnystä lähteä mukaan vesienhallinnan hankkeisiin. Opinnäytetyön teoriaosuudessa syvennyttiin yleisesti vesienhallinnan teemaan, Pohjois-Pohjanmaalle sopeutuviin vesienhallinnan toimenpiteisiin sekä viestinnän rooliin työn toteuttamisessa. Opinnäytetyön toiminnallisessa osuudessa tiedon etsinnän ja kokoamisen lisäksi tuotettiin tekstisisältöä sekä kuvitus verkkosivustolle. Lisäksi toteutettiin sivustoa esittelevä esite sekä video jo toteutuneista toimenpiteistä. Työ sisälsi graafista suunnittelua, verkkosivuston rakentamisen, videoeditointia sekä tulostettavan esitteen suunnittelun ja taiton. Verkkosivusto julkaistiin syksyllä 2023 ja se on ollut tilaajan käytössä siitä lähtien. Video annettiin käyttöön myös tilaajan yhteistyökumppaneille.

The ecological status of waters is a hot topic in Finland, for both in terms of inland and coastal waters. There is a risk of eutrophication of waterways, loss of biodiversity and endangerment of the usability of water, all of which are caused mostly by human activities. Catchment area-specific water management measures have been found to have many positive effects on water bodies, and these could serve as a solution at the source of eutrophication of water systems, especially in agricultural and forestry areas. The aim of this functional thesis was to create a website for the VENE – verkostoneuvonta project (2021–2023) implemented by the ProAgria Northern Finland, Rural Women’s Advisory Organisation of Oulu and Oulu Fishery Centre. The purpose of the thesis was to gather easy-to-understand information on water management measures suitable for the Northern Ostrobothnia region and other topics related to the theme into a single source of information. The starting point for the need for a thesis was when it was discovered during the VENE project that there was information on the topic of water management, but it was very expert-focused and this might raise the threshold for customers to get involved in water management projects. The theoretical framework and foundations of the thesis focus on the theme of water supply in general, water supply measures adapted to Northern Ostrobothnia region, and the role of communication in the implementation of this work. In addition to searching for and compiling information, the functional part of the thesis produced text content and an illustration for the website. In addition to these, the thesis produced a printable brochure presenting the site and a video of the measures already taken. The work included graphic design, website building, video editing, and printable brochure design and layout. The website was published in the autumn of 2023 and has been available to the commissioner ever since. The video has also been made available to the commssioner's partners.
