With the rapid development of the global economy and the growing importance of civil aviation, the digitalization of airports has become a key factor in enhancing operational efficiency, competitiveness and service quality. Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has been actively driving the digital transformation of the airport by introducing advanced digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Digital Twin and Big Data. The transformation has not only improved the operational efficiency of airports, but also enhanced the service experience of travelers and effectively reduced operational costs.
The article first discusses the current situation and challenges of Hong Kong International Airport in promoting digitalization, especially how it achieves visual management and intelligent scheduling of the whole process through Digital Twin technology. By combining big data and AI algorithms, the airport has made positive innovations in flight scheduling, equipment monitoring, and passenger flow management. Meanwhile, Hong Kong International Airport has also made use of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and GIS (Geographic Information System) technologies to fine-tune its infrastructure management and ensure its efficient and safe operation. The article further explores the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of HKIA through SWOT analysis. HKIA occupies an important position in global air logistics, but it also faces problems such as technology integration and talent shortage. With the strengthening of regional cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, HKIA is expected to realize breakthroughs in emerging areas such as intelligent logistics and cross-border e-commerce.
Finally, the article summarizes HKIA's achievements and potential for future development in promoting digitalization. In the future, HKIA will continue to deepen the application of technology, enhance regional cooperation, promote green development, and further strengthen its digital transformation, aiming to become a leading smart airport in the world.
