This thesis focuses on eight observation weeks of the author’s internship as a software development intern at Herizon in Fall 2024.
Herizon partners with cities, companies and schools across Finland to connect international talent to employment opportunities. In 2024 Haaga-Helia partnered with Herizon to bring internship opportunities to its business and technology students.
This thesis logs eight weeks of work, in which features of the inhouse ERP (Enterprise Re-source Planning) system at Herizon were developed. This work consisted of various software development tasks, weekly standup meetings and user testing. Detailed entries were logged daily, along with weekly analyses that discuss the topics and technologies relevant to learnings and professional development throughout the internship period.
Technology stacks discussed: TypeScript, Next.js, PostgreSQL, Chakra UI, JavaScript, React, Material UI, MySQL. Software tools utilized: Figma, Slack, Git, GitHub. Methodologies and frameworks discussed: Agile, OKRs (objective and key results).
