Tiivistelmä
The main objective of this thesis was to investigate the current testing process in some of theFIRMA's projects and to pick out the important obstacles affecting its efficiency. theFIRMA is a student-run project environment at Turku University of Applied Sciences.
To achieve the thesis objectives, the study employed a qualitative method. the interviews were conducted with theFIRMA's students involved in developing applications. A literature review for industry standards and theoretical frameworks was conducted analyzing the current documentations and workflow. This method provided insights into both theory and the real challenges in theFIRMA's current testing process. The interviews revealed some issues such as lack of documentation, lack of communications and lack of time. Based on those findings, the thesis proposed some standardized documentation and structured testing process complying with industry standards, the integration of a new testing process in the early development phase and the application of an automated tool in testing to enhance efficiency.
This thesis contributes to improving the quality of web applications at theFIRMA. By applying a new testing process, not only theFIRMA but also the other IT team could enhance their products' quality.
