Tiivistelmä
This product-based thesis aimed to create a supplier audit template to improve supplier evaluation at company X. The company needed a clear and easy-to-use template to ensure consistent supplier practices. Even if supplier approval was made long ago, suppliers would continue to operate according to company X's requirements in the present.
The theoretical framework is based on supply chain management, including standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. The information gathered was used to support the development of the audit template and define evaluation criteria for suppliers in collaboration with the procurement, purchasing, and quality teams.
The development process included reviewing company X current audit practices, interviewing users, designing the audit tool, and testing it through pilot audits with suppliers. These steps ensured that the tool was functional.
The objectives were achieved by following the tasks outlined in the final project plan. The result was an Excel-based audit template that clearly defined evaluation criteria and scoring, visually presenting the audit results at the end of the audit. The tool was tested during the development phase with several pilot audits, which provided valuable feedback and enabled further template development.
The results of this thesis show that the created auditing template improved the supplier evaluation process, making it more consistent, easier to understand, and faster. The auditing template is ready for use at company X and provides a better way to evaluate suppliers and manage the supply chain in the future.
