Akutmottagningarna runt om i världen är tungt belastade. Det finns många metoder som används för att optimera patientflödet. Syftet med examensarbetet är att få en djupare förståelse om hur optimering av patientflödet används och hur det kan utvecklas på akutmottagningar i Norden. Frågeställning formulerades enligt syfte: Vilka metoder kan användas för att optimera patientflödet på akutmottagningar i Norden?
Studien gjordes som en Scoping review för att kartlägga samt sammanställa forskning. I studien används Lean som teoretisk utgångspunkt. I studien inkluderades totalt 8 artiklar.
I alla 8 studier inkluderade visar hur olika metoder kan optimera patientflödet. Resultatet sammanställs i en artikelmatris och i text samt sammanfattning av resultat i bild.
Sammanfattningsvis visar resultatet av denna studie att det finns flera potentiella strategier som kan optimera patientflödet och minska överbelastningen i akutmottagningar. Studien visar att det finns olika metoder som kan hjälpa till att optimera patientflödet på akutmottagningar. Emergency departments around the world are heavily burdened. There are many methods used to optimize patient flow. The purpose of this thesis is to gain a deeper understanding of how patient flow optimization is utilized and how it can be developed in emergency departments in Nordic countries. The research question was formulated in accordance with the purpose: What methods can be used to optimize patient flow in emergency departments in Nordic countries?
The study was conducted as a scoping review to map and compile research. Lean was used as the theoretical framework for the study. A total of 8 articles were included in the study.
All 8 included studies demonstrated how different methods can optimize patient flow. The results were compiled in an article matrix and presented in both text and summary image.
The results of this study show that there are several potential strategies for optimizing patient flow and reducing overcrowding in emergency departments. This study shows that there are various methods that can help optimize patient flow in emergency departments.
