Design and development of a responsive e-commerce clothing website using MERN stack

Abstract

The focus of this thesis was to design and develop a responsive e-commerce website using MERN stack (MongoDB, Express js, React js and Node js). The purpose was to develop a clothing website that gives seamless user experience across various devices. The importance of responsive design in e-commerce is very pivotal these days as users are accessing online platforms using a variety of devices and have different wants and preferences. This thesis starts with the discussion of the project's primary goals and target audience. Later on, the topic switches to an in-depth look of every MERN stack element, highlighting how these technologies were used during the development process. Along the way, the encountered problems are brought up and followed by a self-evaluation of the project’s outcomes and development journey. The purpose of this study was to educate readers on the usefulness and practical application of the MERN stack in website building. As a non-expert approaching the project and providing a personal viewpoint on the development process, it also acts as a learning experience for the author.
