Aviation Logistics Development Strategy of Chongqing Jiangbei Airport

Abstract

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, as an important aviation hub in the southwestern region, plays a significant role in promoting regional economic openness and international trade through its aviation logistics development. This study, based on field research and case analysis, systematically explores the current status, existing problems, and optimization strategies of aviation logistics at Jiangbei Airport. The research finds that Jiangbei Airport has established a preliminary international freight route network, with cargo and mail throughput exceeding 400,000 tons in 2024, and continuously improving specialized services such as cold chain logistics. However, there are still significant shortcomings in infrastructure capacity, smartization level, enterprise competitiveness, and policy coordination. By drawing on advanced domestic and international experiences, this paper proposes differentiated development strategies: accelerating the construction of the T3B terminal and the fourth runway, enhancing cold chain storage and automated sorting capabilities; building a standardized service system and strengthening the application of smart logistics platforms; promoting the transformation of enterprises into comprehensive logistics service providers and expanding the international freight network; improving the "1+N" policy support system and optimizing the regulatory coordination mechanism. The study emphasizes that Jiangbei Airport should base itself on the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle, and through an integrated development model of "hub + industry + wisdom + green," create an internationally competitive aviation logistics system. Finally, the thesis proposes safeguard measures for the implementation of strategies from four dimensions: organizational guarantee, talent support, technological innovation, and policy support, providing theoretical references and practical paths for Jiangbei Airport to achieve a leap from a regional hub to an international aviation logistics hub.
