The topic of recreating games is very widely known and discussed, but usually focuses on released titles. This thesis handled the topic of redesigning a game at its conceptual phase, in which thorough research is more essential. The characters and game mechanics were the chosen aspects to be reworked, as the other key components were prioritized in the original rendition.
The necessary research was conducted through examining other game titles, including remakes and inspirations for the original iteration of the thesis project, especially when working on the cooperation game mechanics. Character design fundamentals were studied, and the knowledge was then utilized in the redesign process. The designs were then presented to an audience through an online survey to determine if the designs were viable and if they conveyed the theme of the story better.
The end result was a redesigned, better game concept, which can be further developed in the future based on the research conducted and information gathered. For this thesis, the game stayed on a conceptual level and was not developed into an actual build, but it may be possible to continue the project in the future with the right team and skillset.
