Tiivistelmä
This thesis explores the development of a Power App aimed at digitalizing and streamlining internal logistics processes at ABB Large Motors & Generators. The project addresses a concrete need to improve traceability, reduce manual work, and ensure a more reliable flow of information between supervisors and transport personnel. The application is developed using Microsoft Power Platform and Dataverse and consists of a canvas app targeted at supervisors and transport workers. The work follows an iterative development method, guided by insights from five supervisors and continuous testing in the production environment. The methodology combines qualitative data collection through interviews and observations with quantitative data such as job completion time, number of reported deviations, and user feedback. Results show that the application improves data quality, increases transparency, clarifies responsibility allocation, and enhances documentation of transport flows. Although the application does not yet reduce completion times, it enables tracking of more complex transports and contributes to structured deviation handling via notifications in Microsoft Teams. During the measured period, six deviations were registered with clear classification, something that was not previously possible. User surveys indicate generally positive feedback, especially regarding traceability and user-friendliness. Limitations of the study include the short measurement period and the relatively small dataset from earlier manual methods. The application supports ABB’s smart factory strategy and demonstrates how low-code solutions can strengthen digitalization in production environments.
