Kotikylän journalismia : näistä palasista koostuu luettu juttu paikallislehdessä

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli selvittää, mistä palasista koostuu paljon lukijoita kerännyt juttu paikallislehdessä. Työ osoitti, että menestyvän paikallislehtijutun ominaispiirteitä ovat hyvä otsikko, mielenkiintoinen paikallinen aihe, oikeat sanavalinnat ja ajankohta sekä uuden faktatiedon kertominen lukijoille.

Paikallislehdissä korostuu lukijakeskeinen sisältö, paikalliset juttuaiheet ja vähintään kerran viikossa ilmestyvä printtilehti. Paikallislehdet ovat myös olennainen osa paikallisen demokratian toteutumista ja tästä syystä tärkeä tutkimuskohde.

Opinnäytetyöni jakautuu kahteen osaan, teoriaosaan ja portfolioon. Teoriaosio käsittelee paikallislehtikentän nykytilaa, ominaispiirteitä, haasteita ja tulevaisuuden näkymiä. Osion loppuun on koostettu paikallislehden päätoimittajan haastattelu. Portfolio käsittelee neljää kirjoittamaani juttua Janakkalan Sanomille. Opinnäytetyön viimeinen kappale tiivistää tehdyt havainnot ja kertoo luetun paikallislehtijutun eri palaset.

The aim of this thesis was to find out what the pieces of a read article in a local newspaper consist of. The work showed that a successful local newspaper article is characterized by a good headline, an interesting local topic, the right choice of words and timing, and telling readers new facts.

Local newspapers emphasize reader-oriented content, local stories and print edition that appears at least once a week. Local newspapers are also an essential part of local democracy and therefore also an important subject for research.

My thesis is divided into two parts, a theory part and a portfolio. The theoretical part deals with the current state, characteristics, challenges and future prospects of the local newspaper field. At the end of the section, an interview with the editor-in-chief of the local newspaper is included. The portfolio deals with four stories I have written for Janakkalan Sanomat. The final section of the thesis summarizes the findings and describes the different pieces of a read article in the local paper.
