Tiivistelmä
Remote work or work from home has become a new normal in 2020, when the COVID–19 pandemic forced organisations to set up work from home for their employees. The remote work engagement model is now widely used across the globe, and many organisations have the remote work model as their standard operations.
Remote work has its benefits and challenges. The objective of this research was to identify what remote work challenges are applicable for DataForce. This research is carried out as a case study for DataForce.
The research presents remote work challenges identified in the current literature: isolation, working longer hours, and communication challenges.
Identifies most common remote work challenges and reviews remote work benefits. It discusses remote management and best practices in managing remote teams.
To answer research questions, a survey was designed to collect data. Research contributors were DataForce employees in two roles: supervisors and subordinates. Survey results were analysed, and results were presented in charts and graphs.
As a result, there were two remote work challenges identified at DataForce. Isolation at the remote work is one of the challenges. The second remote work challenge identified at DataForce is working longer hours.
