Diabetes mellitus type 2 was reported as the primary public health issue globally that required attention on prevention, treatment, and management. As the number of patients diagnosed with diabetes was on the
significant rise annually, ti became important to promote public health awareness about the disease as well as self-care management strategies. To foster the effectiveness o self-care practices, nurse-led interventions regarding education for nurses and recommendations for practical implementations was introduced to the nursing field research. The highlights of nurse-coordinated interventions played an irreplaceable role in diabetes treatment and self-care management since it promoted clinical guidelines into practices and helped better clinical outcomes.
The aim of this study was to review the evidence-based knowledge about clinical practices nurses should
use to support diabetic patient self-care management. Data in the study was collected from two data bases: CINAHL and PUBMED. The search process selected in total of 6 articles and the data was conducted by thematic analysis. Two main categories were identified: cultural adaptations in practical implementations and focus areas of nursing interventions.
In conclusion, to the most appropriate nursing facilitations, nurses should be flexible in considering cultural backgrounds, local standards, and unique needs of separate individuals before initiating care plans. Moreover, to enhance nurses' adherence to clinical guidelines, ti was necessary to bridge the professional knowledge gap for nurses by focusing on nurse education. Besides cultural elements, such factors associated with psychological approaches as behavioral theory strategies through effective communication would encourage patients to comply with treatment and self-care practices. Lastly, foot care recommendations as one part of the care should be well-assessed and guided by professionals.
