Peer learning in flute teaching for beginners : a reflection on the application of peer learning in flute playing

Abstract

Tässä opinnäytetyössä tutkittiin vertaisoppimista huilunsoiton alkeisopetuksessa. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tutkijan osaamisen lisääminen ja vertaisoppimisen soveltaminen opetustyössä. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli myös jakaa hyödyllisiä kokemuksia tulevaisuuden opettajille, jotka haluavat soveltaa teoreettista tietoa vertaisoppimisesta huilunsoiton opetuksessa.

Teoreettisessa viitekehyksessä käsiteltiin oppimiseen, vuorovaikutukseen ja yhteistoiminnalliseen oppiseen liittyviä käsitteitä sekä määriteltiin lähestymistapa vertaisoppimiseen.

Tutkimusvaiheessa toteutettiin musiikillinen projekti yhdessä huiluluokan kanssa soveltaen vertaisoppimista musiikin opetuksessa. Opetustunnit ja loppukonsertti toteutettiin lukuvuoden 2023–2024 aikana. Projekti päätettiin loppukonserttiin, jossa vertaisoppimisen tulokset olivat nähtävillä. Tutkimuksessa hyödynnettiin myös tutkijan aikaisempaa akateemista ja didaktista tietotaitoa käytännössä. Koko tutkimuksen ajan edistettiin teoreettiseen viitekehykseen perehtymistä.

This thesis is a set of ideas that aim to research Peer Learning strategies in an academic environment and understand the best ways to learn effectively. This research openly shares experiences, hoping they can be helpful to future teachers who want to apply theoretical knowledge related to Peer Learning and flute teaching.

The theoretical framework discusses broad concepts related to teaching, including a definition of a personal approach to Peer Learning. The student is also the creator of a musical project that responds to the application of Peer Learning in music studies and involves the realization of a final concert. This experimentation, which involves collaborating with a flute class, aims to put into practice all the knowledge previously acquired in the academic and didactic path.

With an open vision and a more in-depth study of Peer Learning in a Conservatory context and through the active participation of students, the work was carried out during curricular hours and a final concert was scheduled for the end of the academic year 2023 / 2024.
