Tiivistelmä
This thesis is presented in a diary format and covers an eight-week internship period, between January 20 and March 13, 2025. It focusses on the professional and personal development of the author within the field of user experience (UX) design and development. During this eight-week period, the author’s set goals to achieve development in three areas. These areas were selected based on the author's intended career path. The primary goal of this project was to develop the author’s communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. Additionally, the authors had a secondary goal which was to build a professional network to be used for future career opportunities.

The diary begins with work environment analysis including initial observation of the team, routines, and work processes. Then the author moved to gather job requirements and understand how to fulfill them. Each entry in the diary documents specific tasks, challenges encountered, and areas of growth.

During these eight weeks, the author participated in many tasks, however, four main projects defined the experience. These projects were: developing and improving a hotel and flight reservation website and mobile application, developing a better company info website, improving point of sale system (POS) and building informative customer support chatbot.

By the end of the eight-weeks, the author’s had expanded his acknowledge and clearly made progress in all targeted skill areas. The booking website and app and POS system were successfully redesigned to be more intuitive, user friendly, and personalized. The information web-site was reorganized to present only need information and content in a clear and accessible format. Lastly, the chatbot enhanced the customer experience by offering and delivering fast, accurate, and helpful information. This achievement reflects both the author's technical development and increased professional confidence.
