Tiivistelmä
This thesis looks at how shared leadership and internal communication affect each other and how they are experienced by the employees at a chosen case company. The goal is to discern what may need to be improved in terms of shared leadership, as well as whether or not there are indications that could possibly aid in a shift towards sustainable leadership in the future. Research for this thesis consists of a theoretical framework and a company survey at the case company.

The results of the survey show that there are differences in attitudes between roles as well as experience. Looking at sections, there is a general satisfaction among respondents, although significant effort needs to be put into improving feedback and employeeship, while horizontal communication (employee-employee) was thriving. The survey also showed indications that the foundational elements for sustainable leadership are present and could be tapped into further should a switch to sustainable leadership be considered in the future.

In the future, research might be conducted over a longer period of time and follow a company from the beginning of shared leadership to see how attitudes change as the company settles into shared leadership, while also taking into account a wider demographic segmentation.
