Tiivistelmä
The aim of this thesis is to identify the onboard challenges associated with the maintenance of Life-saving and Fire-fighting appliances from the seafarer’s perspective. This research is based on the assessment of a questionnaire completed by seafarers and an online interview with several key personnel responsible for maintaining Life-Saving Appliances (LSA) and Fire-Fighting Appliances (FFA) onboard.
This research will assess the ability of seafarers to maintain LSA/FFA equipment in accordance with the safety standards set by SOLAS and the LSA Code, as well as the challenges they may face onboard in effectively maintaining this equipment.
