Tiivistelmä
Stora Enso developed an app to reduce the need for timber purchasers to commute and
streamline the contract-making process with forest owners. Despite its potential, the app
has low user engagement, with many contracts left incomplete. This thesis aims to identify
the reasons behind low app usage and propose improvements. Key questions include
whether the app’s design, functionality, or integration with other systems is limiting its use,
and how to enhance timber purchaser adoption. A survey of 30 timber purchasers revealed
that the app requires technical improvements, better usability, and clearer communication
to gain trust. Addressing these areas could make the app a central tool, supporting a more
sustainable workflow and reducing driving emissions.
