Tiivistelmä
This study tested and analysed the possibilities of using digital tools and materials for orientation process of a psychiatric hospital. The purpose of the study was to create a multi-professional development model of digital orientation material using a small part of the psychiatric care environment together with nurses and map the content creation process for further use cases. The aim of this study was to support the use of digital tools in employee orientation in the social and healthcare sector. This was to be done by gathering information about the suitability of the material for orientation purposes in this context based on the opinions of the nurses. This included both the nurses that participated in the content creation process and nurses that did not participate. The thoughts of ICT and training managers were also gathered.

The study was conducted using the design science methodology as it could be utilized to include all the necessary key points of the orientation material creation, its evaluation by the hospital personnel, analysis of the feedback and possible further improvement ideas. The study included two workshops with hospital personnel, two questionnaires for the nurses and two interviews, one for each aforementioned manager.

The results showed that both the nurses and the managers see the possible benefits in the digital orientation material, but downsides and challenges were also identified.
