Tiivistelmä
This thesis presents a potential solution to help champagne producers handle their inventories: technology. It intends to answer to the following question “How can technology help champagne producers handle their inventory management?”. Available research does not cover the specificities of champagne producers. As such, a literature review on other industries practices regarding inventory management and a data collection with a questionnaire about the current practices of champagne producers were undergone. Two technologies were specifically covered, to wit enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and radio frequency identification (RFID). These solutions appear to be ideal for the purpose of having real-time information about the current stock levels which should mainly help with the customs and for stocktakes.
