Tiivistelmä
The literature review studied non-pharmacological intervention strategies that medical facilities imple-ment for migraines and tension-type headaches (TTH), which rank among the most common disabling primary headache conditions. The study evaluated behavioral approaches, physical procedures, and complementary therapies that provide supplementary options to pharmaceutical administration. The study used PubMed and BioMed Central databases to conduct a literature review which resulted in the selection of eight peer-reviewed articles from 2015 to 2025. The results formed three main category are-as, which consist of psychological and behavioral interventions, physical and complementary therapies, and barriers to clinical implementation. Multiple studies showed that combinations of mindfulness ther-apy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), patient educational programs and manual therapy developed strong evidence of lowering these types of headache occurrence and enhancing patient life quality and self-care capabilities. The study highlighted important barriers, including provider training deficiencies, contradictory research findings, and restricted access caused by insurance policies. The conclusions show how non-pharmacological treatments enhance headache care yet essential changes coupled with additional research must happen to make them standard parts of clinical practice.
