A Study on Image Denoising and Enhancement Techniques Using OpenCV

Abstract

With the rapid development of computer vision technology, image processing has become a core technique widely applied in various fields such as healthcare, security, and autonomous driving. OpenCV, as a powerful and open-source image processing library, provides a rich set of interfaces for image denoising and enhancement algorithms, greatly facilitating the work of researchers and developers. This paper presents a systematic review of image denoising methods based on OpenCV, covering traditional techniques such as mean filtering, median filtering, and Gaussian filtering. For image enhancement, the study provides a detailed discussion on histogram equalization and its improved variants. The performance advantages and applicable scenarios of each algorithm are summarized, and future development trends in image denoising and enhancement are also discussed. This work aims to offer both theoretical references and practical guidance for research and application in related fields.
