Oppimateriaali B-solulymfoomaa sairastavan nuoren aikuisen kuntoutuksesta

Abstract

Syövän sairastaminen ja hoito voi aiheuttaa muutoksia, jotka vaikuttavat alentavasti henkilön toimintakykyyn. Toimintakyvyn säilyttämiseksi tulee huomioida potilaan kokonaisvaltainen kuntoutus, joka on tavoitteellinen ja pitkäkestoinen prosessi. Ammattilaisen tehtävä on tunnistaa potilaan yksilölliset tuentarpeet, ja toimintakykyä edistävät ja heikentävät tekijät.

Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tehdä narratiivinen kirjallisuuskatsaus koskien nuoren aikuisen B-solulymfoomapotilaan kuntoutusta ja luoda sen perusteella oppimateriaalia sairaanhoitajaopiskelijoille. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on edistää sairaanhoitajaopiskelijoiden tietoutta lymfomapotilaan kuntoutuksesta nuorella aikuisella.

Opinnäytetyön aineisto (n=15) analysoitiin sisällönanalyysillä. Opinnäytetyössä rajattiin nuoren aikuisen iäksi 18–25 vuotta. Oppimateriaali toteutettiin PowerPoint - muodossa tietopakettina, joka sisältää oleellisimmat tiedot lymfoomapotilaan kuntoutuksen merkityksestä, menetelmistä ja ajankohdista, sekä potilaan osallisuuden vaikutuksesta kuntoutuksen onnistumiseen. Tietopaketin lopussa on 10 kysymyksen tietotesti sekä mallivastaukset, joiden avulla opiskelija voi testata osaamisensa aiheesta. Toimeksiantajana opinnäytetyöllä on Towards Cancer Care Continuum Approach in Undergraduate Nursing Education –hanke.

Being diagnosed with and treated for cancer can lead to changes that negatively affect a person’s functional ability. In order to maintain functional capacity, it is essential to consider the patient’s comprehensive rehabilitation, which is a goaloriented and long-term process. The professional’s task is to identify the patient’s individual support needs, as well as the factors that promote or impair their functional ability.

The purpose of this thesis was to conduct a narrative literature review on the rehabilitation of young adults with B-cell lymphoma and, based on this, to create educational material for nursing students. The aim of the thesis is to enhance nursing students’ knowledge of the rehabilitation of lymphoma patients in young adulthood.

The data for the thesis (n=15) were analyzed using content analysis. In this thesis, the age range for young adults was defined as 18–25 years. The educational material was produced in PowerPoint format as an information package, which includes the most essential information about the significance, methods, and timing of rehabilitation in lymphoma care, as well as the impact of patient participation on the success of rehabilitation. At the end of the information package, there is a 10- question knowledge test with model answers, allowing students to assess their understanding of the topic. The thesis was commissioned by the Towards Cancer Care Continuum Approach in Undergraduate Nursing Education project.
