Tiivistelmä
Sustainability has become a significant factor for companies of all sizes, influencing risks, opportunities and strategic priorities. This thesis explores corporate responsibility and develops a sustainability program for Finnish Aviation Academy Ltd. A qualitative case study approach was used, including literature review, internal documents, benchmarking, discussions, observations, workshops and a materiality survey.
The thesis examines economic, social and environmental aspects of sustainability, with particular attention to safety and the expectations of the company’s state owner. It also reviews responsible management practices and corporate responsibility frameworks. The process of constructing the sustainability program is presented step by step, including stakeholder identification and challenges encountered.
As a result, a comprehensive sustainability program was developed, providing guidelines for continuous improvement, emphasizing safety, high student performance and long-term sustainability. The conclusions highlight the program’s significance for Finnish Aviation Academy’s operations and future development, demonstrating how sustainability can be systematically integrated into an aviation training organization’s strategy and daily activities.
