The research was conducted to explore the role of the area manager in the stability of operations, leadership, and team development at McDonald's Finland. Specifically, the study aimed to determine how appropriate managerial practices could impact team motivation and service quality.
A qualitative design was used to collect data through a semi-structured email interview with the area manager at McDonald's Järvenpää. Thematic analysis was employed to analysis the data for patterns within areas of operational oversight, communication, decision-making, and potential for continuous improvement.
The results indicated that an area manager can achieve stability by integrating supervision with priority-based flexibility, positive communication, and a developmental leadership approach.
In conclusion, the study found that an effective area manager can enhance employee experience and customer experience and reiterate the value of flexible leadership and motivation for continued operational success at McDonald's.
