Tiivistelmä
This thesis focuses on improving the process of the commissioning company’s installed base and repair management tool. The aim was to analyze the current state of the process, identify potential areas for improvement and enhance overall efficiency. To achieve this, a detailed process description of the cur-rent state was created, and solution proposals were provided for the identified issues. This process is related to product repairs and the company’s reverse logistics, which is a relevant topic in today’s world as the amount of waste and disposable culture has increased.
The theoretical background related to the objectives was explored in the knowledge base through literature and previous studies. The primary used research methods were interviews and observation, which revealed that the existing process is highly manual and inefficient. Interviewees were selected based on their knowledge and expertise. Observation indicated that the process efficiency should be improved, and the interviews supported this finding. Interviews also revealed alternative approaches suitable as development suggestions. All development proposals can be implemented immediately or at a later stage. Furthermore, they can serve as a pillar for continuous improvement within the company. A SWOT analysis was also created based on research results to consolidate the responses and serve as the framework for drawing conclusions.
