Ikääntyneiden palveluiden haavaverkosto : osaamistarpeiden kartoitus haavatyöryhmän jäsenille

Abstract

Kroonisten haavojen määrä tulee tulevaisuudessa edelleen lisääntymään väestön ikääntymisen, diabeteksen ja ylipainon lisääntymisen seurauksena aiheuttaen yhä suurempia haasteita terveydenhuoltojärjestelmälle. Haavojen hoidossa on tutkimusten mukaan tunnistettu monia haasteita muun muassa hoitajien osaamisessa. Haavanhoidon onnistunut toteuttaminen edellyttää terveydenhuollon ammattilaisina toimivilta hoitajilta riittävää teoreettista ja käytännön osaamista. Osaamisen arviointi onkin keskeistä sekä ammattilaisten koulutuksessa että kliinisessä toiminnassa. Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tuottaa tietoa hoitajien ikääntyneiden asiakkaiden haavanhoidon osaamistarpeista ja tarkoituksena oli kartoittaa näitä osaamistarpeita kyselytutkimuksen avulla. Opinnäytetyön tutkimuksellinen osuus toteutettiin kyselytutkimuksena (N=233) Kehittämis- ja asiantuntijapalveluiden koordinoimissa haavatyöryhmissä. Saatu aineisto analysoitiin teorialähtöisellä sisällönanalyysillä. Opinnäytetyön tuotoksena syntyi sisältöehdotus, jota on mahdollista hyödyntää tulevissa haavatyöryhmien kokouksissa Ikääntyneiden palveluissa toteutettavissa haavanhoidon koulutuksissa Varsinais-Suomen hyvinvointialueella.

The number of chronic wounds is expected to continue increasing in the future as a result of the aging population and the growing prevalence of diabetes and overweight, which pose ever greater challenges to the healthcare system. Previous studies have identified several challenges in wound care, including deficiencies in the competencies of nurses. Successful wound care requires nurses, as healthcare professionals, to possess sufficient theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Therefore, competence assessment is essential both in professional training and clinical practice. The objective of this thesis was to produce information on the wound care competence needs of nurses working with elderly clients, with the purpose of identifying the gaps in these competencies through a survey. The empirical part of the thesis was conducted as a questionnaire survey (N=233) among wound care working groups coordinated by the Development and Expertise Services. The collected data were analyzed using theory-based content analysis. As a result of the thesis, a content proposal was developed, which can be utilized in future wound care working group meetings and in wound care training organized within the Elderly Services in the wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland.
