”Spindeln i nätet” : Socionomens roll inom fortgående boendeservice för personer med funktionsvariationer – en kvalitativ intervjustudie

Abstract

I detta examensarbete kommer vi att undersöka socionomens roll inom fortgående boendeservice för personer med funktionsvariationer. Socionomer jobbar oftast administrativt eller som vårdare på boenden i nuläget och med intervjuer vill vi se ifall det finns ytterligare behov av socionomer.

Syftet med vårt examensarbete är att undersöka behovet av socionomers kompetens inom fortgående boendeservice för personer med funktionsvariationer. Vidare syftar arbetet till att belysa hur socionomens specifika kunskaper och färdigheter kan bidra till att utveckla och förbättra boendeservicen.

Metoden som använts är en kvalitativ intervjustudie. Vi har intervjuat anställda inom fortgående boendeservicen för personer med funktionsvariationer inom Österbottens välfärdsområde. Totalt utförde vi fem intervjuer och informanterna var både socionomer och sjukskötare. Intervjuerna var semi-strukturerade för att ge informanterna möjligheten att fördjupa sig inom ämnet.

Resultatet från våra intervjuer visar hur anställda ställer sig till socionomer inom fortgående boendeservicen för personer med funktionsvariationer. De arbetssätt och metoder som informanter anser vara relevanta är delaktighetsfrämjande arbete och socialpedagogiken. Vidare så visar resultatet att det är viktigt att tänka på klienternas självbestämmanderätt och att de får vara delaktiga i beslut om deras situation. Informanterna såg ett behov av socionomen som ett komplement till övriga personalstyrkan.

In this thesis, we will examine the role of the Bachelor of Social Services within continuous housing services for individuals with disabilities. Bachelor of Social Services currently often work in administrative roles or as caregivers in residential settings, and through interviews, we want to explore whether there is a broader need for Bachelor of Social Services.

The purpose of our thesis is to investigate the need for social workers' expertise within continuous housing services for individuals with disabilities. Furthermore, the aim is to highlight how the specific knowledge and skills of Bachelor of Social Services can contribute to the development and improvement of housing services.

The method used is a qualitative interview study. We interviewed employees within continuous housing services for individuals with disabilities in the Ostrobothnia Welfare Region. In total, we conducted five interviews, and among the informants were both social workers and nurses. The interviews were semi-structured to give the informants the opportunity to delve deeper into the subject.

The results from our interviews show how employees view the role of Bachelor of Social Services in continuous housing services for individuals with disabilities. The working methods and approaches that the informants consider relevant include promoting participation and social pedagogy. Furthermore, the results indicate that it is important to consider the clients’ right to self-determination and to ensure they are involved in decisions about their own situations. The informants saw a need for a Bachelor of Social Services as a complement to the rest of the team.
