Tiivistelmä
This study looks at how Microsoft Power Automate can help multinational companies improve both their operational efficiency and compliance with regulations, using India and Finland. The goal is to explore the difference between how widely low-code tools are used and the challenges of meeting compliance needs across different countries. The research uses a combination of methods, including interviews with experts from areas like compliance, IT, security, finance, and operations, along with controlled simulations of five common workflows: approval routing, invoicing, compliance reporting, employee onboarding, and data synchronization.

The comparative analysis is centered on the jurisdictional differences. Finland is governed by the GDPR-based regime, where one must show demonstrable auditability, disciplined retention/deletion of data, and readiness to face breaches. Hence, logging and evidence packs of Power Automate focus on chains of custody, lawful-basis tagging, and deletion attestations. In India, operational emphasis has turned towards GST/tax timeliness, consent/notice under emerging privacy rules, and a selective localization of data for automations parameterized on date-bound filings, consent capture, and region-specific storage pathways. These differences notwithstanding, the same workflow templates generalize very well when configured with country-specific policy toggles.

The study found that Power Automate is a practical enabler of long-lasting and auditable efficiencies and that implementation should start with rule-dense processes, embedding guardrails from the start, instilling observability, and hyper-localizing policy parameters per jurisdiction. The study concluded that organizations should sequence high-value use cases, formalize a Center of Excellence (CoE), and publish standardized evidence packs in order to ease audits. These practices help sustain measurable gains in speed and compliance.
