The lifecycle management of laptop computers in a public sector or-ganization from the perspective of sustainability

Abstract

This thesis is a case study of the lifecycle of business laptops in a public sector organization. It explores the lifecycle, with the focus on sustainability and endeavors to answer the question of why sustainability is important, with a look in theory that shows what kind of a problem e-waste is globally and the kind of legislation and thinking that is poised to change the way the societies view waste. More than just waste management, the theory section explains what key factors contribute to sustainable lifecycle management of laptop computers.
