Tiivistelmä
The primary purpose of this thesis was to create and assess the interaction of a school-management platform with multiple roles that is students, teachers, parents, and administrator support altogether. To start with, an overall concept was made for a role-based dashboard and its usability analysed. The entire process was directed by Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) and the evaluated field as a practice-based study.
The researcher formulated a theoretical framework initially that helped articulate the main ideas of user experience, usability thinking, and educational platforms. On the basis of that, a development project was executed consisting of Figma prototypes design and selected dashboards development using React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. Usability reviews representing user roles and visitor scenarios novelty were imposed in the evaluation.
The findings indicated that role-specific dashboards could improve the usability, clarity, and navigation of school management platforms. The analysis of simulated user interactions suggested that classifying functionalities according to user roles could increase efficiency and reduce misunderstandings. It is recommended that educational institutions apply user experience–focused design principles in the development of the digital platforms. The project outcome may serve as a prototype reference and provide design guidelines for future development of multi-role educational SaaS systems.
