Tiivistelmä
Solo entrepreneurship provides autonomy and flexibility but also exposes individuals to significant psychological strain. This thesis explores the key stress factors faced by solo entrepreneurs and examines practical strategies for managing them effectively.
Drawing on literature from entrepreneurship, psychology, and stress management, as well as two case examples from Finnish solo entrepreneurs, the study identifies financial uncertainty, social isolation, and workload imbalance as the primary stressors. The analysis demonstrates that proactive coping mechanisms — such as mindfulness, cognitive-behavioural techniques, physical activity, and social support — help improve resilience and performance.
The findings aim to guide solo entrepreneurs in recognising stress early and applying sustainable self-management practices to ensure long-term well-being and business continuity.
